Berlin-based GAZPROM Germania GmbH’s sole shareholder is the Russian company Gazprom export, itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of GAZPROM.
GAZPROM’s goal is to work the entire value chain, create new sales channels for Russian natural gas, and strengthen its position as an internationally operating, world-leading energy company. Over its almost 20-year history, GAZPROM Germania has developed into a group of companies operating in a number of countries.
PAO GAZPROM, a public joint-stock company under Russian law, is headquartered in Moscow. It is the world’s largest producer of natural gas. Its core business activities include the exploration, production, processing, transportation, and trading of natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and gas condensate.
GAZPROM has natural gas reserves of more than 35 Tm³ – the largest in the world. In 2013 alone, GAZPROM exported 162.7 Gm³ of natural gas to Europe and Turkey – around 30 % of Europe’s total natural gas consumption.
Germany has traditionally been GAZPROM’s largest customer. GAZPROM supplies around 40 Gm³ of natural gas to Germany every year – around 40 % of Germany’s natural gas imports.
GAZPROM recorded revenue of RUB 5,002 billion for the 2012 financial year – a 5.6 % increase on the previous year’s revenue of RUB 4,735.8 billion. Its net income was RUB 745.7 billion (2011: RUB 995.4 billion).
