GAZPROM Germania is promoting the Russian language in Germany
GAZPROM Germania is again supporting the Bundescup – Spielend Russisch Lernen language competition, continuing the support it has given in previous years. Through our long-term commitment to this project, we aim to introduce young people to the Russian language and awaken their interest in Russia, its culture, and people.
The language competition, which is organized by the German-Russian Forum, shows young people aged 14 and upwards how learning Russian can be fun. Participating teams are made up of two players, with only one partner having some knowledge of Russian. In this way young people with no Russian can get a first impression of the language.
The Bundescup competition has been promoting the Russian language in Germany since 2007. Over 15,000 schoolchildren from all over Germany have taken part so far, and interest in the competition is growing. Last year saw around 240 schools participate, with winning teams from each school sent on to one of 16 regional heats. GAZPROM has invited the winners of these regional heats to the grand final this autumn at Schalke’s football stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Following the Schalke F.C. match, the winning teams will be announced and awarded with their prize – a trip to Russia.
