By supplying Russian natural gas, GAZPROM Germania is bringing energy and warmth to Europe. And by providing energy, we unite cultures and people. Alongside our commitment to sports and culture, part of our corporate philosophy is to actively assume social responsibility – in particular, by supporting disadvantaged and sick people in Germany and Russia. We have initiated a number of long-term projects that will contribute to continuing improvements in the living standards of people in need and provide financial support to social institutions.
We sponsor an institution for handicapped Russian children through the Rehabilitation of the Child foundation in St. Petersburg. A further corporate milestone is our support of the Stiftung Deutsche Kinder-, Jugend- und Elterntelefone, a telephone-based advisory service for children and the parents of children run under the patronage of Doris Schröder-Köpf, wife of the former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder. Over the past few years, we have also provided regular financial support to female Russian pensioners as part of the St. Petersburg Centre for International Cooperation’s Mother Russia project.
