In the autumn of 2009, GAZPROM Germania presented the Moscow Symphony Orchestra at Berlin’s Konzerthaus
On 29 October 2009, GAZPROM Germania GmbH proudly presented the Moscow Symphony Orchestra at the Berlin Konzerthaus in association with its long-time partner, Wintershall Holding AG. The Moscow-based orchestra offered interpretations of great composers such as Peter Tchaikovsky, Felix Mendelssohn, and Gioacchino Rossini under the direction of conductor Arkady Berin. The concert also featured virtuoso pianist Alexander Ghindin performing alongside other talented, up-and-coming musicians.
Since its foundation 20 years ago, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra has been a pillar of Russian culture and Moscow’s classical scene. The orchestra has conducted a number of tours throughout the United States, Japan, and all over Europe. The orchestra has made a name for itself with over 100 recordings on CD and LP and has won a number of awards around the world. Now the orchestra has performed in Berlin for the first time with acclaimed head conductor Prof. Arkady Berin and the Russian virtuoso pianist Alexander Ghindin.
With GAZPROM Germania’s sponsorship, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra was able to make a German stop on its European tour. This sponsorship is just another example of GAZPROM Germania's contribution to German-Russian cultural exchange. We also offered two up-and-coming Russian soloists the opportunity to showcase themselves in Berlin and increase their profile: 23-year-old pianist Vadym Kholodenko and 16-year-old oboist Sergey Finoyedov. By supporting young, talented musicians, we are investing in the future – because Energy Unites People.
