GAZPROM Germania promoted young operatic talent
On the eastern shores of the Lake Grienerick, near Berlin, is Rheinsberg Castle. Its magnificent facade rises out of Brandenburg’s countryside as if out of a fairytale, enchanting its visitors with its brilliance.
For the past 20 years, Rheinsberg Castle has also drawn opera lovers into its spell. Every summer, young opera singers demonstrate their talents at the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera Festival, an event that is well known both inside and outside Brandenburg. Last year, the event attracted 22,000 visitors to the castle grounds.
GAZPROM Germania has also celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and was pleased to be celebrating this together with the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera. GAZPROM Germania has been a reliable sponsor of the festival for several years.
As a German company with Russian roots, we were especially gladdened by “Prince Henry and Catherine the Great” at this year’s Rheinsberg Singing Festival, with songs, arias, and duets from Russia. Vassili Pashkevitch’s Fevey opera, which had its premier German performance at the event, is one of the earliest Russian operas.
By sponsoring young people, we are investing in the future – and that's why supporting the young is becoming increasingly significant to our overall social commitment.
