From 10-12 June 2011 Dusseldorf was hosting the 19th Jazz Rally which presented 85 concerts with more than 500 international musicians. GAZPROM Germania GmbH supported the event, which is now one of the most popular city’s hallmarks for the second time and presented a concert of the Russian band “Jazzprom” on Sunday 12th June 2011 from 10-11.30 pm in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
Despite its name, the Jazz Rally is about more than just jazz alone: you can hear funk, soul, blues, boogie woogie, salsa and rock at the festival too. Thus, Jazz Rally has evolved into a renowned international jazz festival. International jazz stars as well as regionally well-known musicians attracted about 300.000 music fans last year.
Due to the particular choice of venues and the deliberate emphasis on contemporary pieces, the festival addressed an increasingly young audience. Alternative venues such as the Palais Wittgenstein and other traditional concert places emphasized different music styles with their individual design.
With support of GAZPROM Germania GmbH, the band "Jazzprom" performed and heated up the Dusseldorf audience with self-composed Eastern European sounds. The famous Dutch rock and jazz guitarist Jan Akkerman performed as a special guest.
This way, GAZPROM Germania GmbH contributed to further enhancement of the German-Russian intercultural exchange and thereby created an unforgettable musical event.
