GAZPROM Germania presents the Alexandrowka Festival of Russian Culture
The fifth Alexandrowka Festival of Russian Culture will take place on 16 and 17 July 2011 at the Alexandrowka Russian Colony in Potsdam.
The Alexandrowka Russian Colony, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, invites the public to a lively annual celebration with performances by Russian artists. Visitors to the festival can look forward to sampling Russian music, theatre played on balconies, Russian clowns in the children’s area, and a historical bivouac. For the third time, there will also be public singing as a reminder of the colony’s original purpose as home to the Prussian King’s Russian military singers.
The musical highlights of the festival will include performances by the band Cosmonautix and the Skazka Orchestra, as well as Tuvan throat singing by the artist Aryopa. Theatre fans can attend performances of Chekhov dramas by the Small Chekhov Theatre Ensemble on Saturday evening, followed by the Festival Parade led by Queen Luise and her entourage and, afterwards, the unique Alexandrowka village disco.
Experience Alexandrowka Russian Colony’s summer hospitality on 16 July 2011 (1 p.m. to midnight) and on 17 July 2011 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) 2011.
