Transportation to Europe Takes Eight Days

With a total length of over 150,000 km, GAZPROM’s main natural gas pipeline system is the largest worldwide. Natural gas from Russia has been reliably reaching the European sales areas through the pipeline system’s main routes for over four decades now.

It takes the natural gas approximately eight days to pass the distance of over 5,000 km from Western Siberia to customers in Germany, France, Italy, and other Western European countries.

In order to satisfy the growing demand of the European market, particularly the German market, and to secure sustainable supplies, GAZPROM, together with its partners BASF, E.ON Ruhrgas, and Gasunie is investing in the construction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
