Increasing Production Guarantees Supply Security

Approximately 88% of Russian natural gas is produced by GAZPROM. The company annually produces some 550 Gm³ of natural gas which is equivalent to 20% of the world’s production.

The continuous increase in the gas production rate over the past few years is caused by the growing demand of the European sales markets. An increase in demand of approximately 30-50% is expected for the European natural gas market by 2030. This will be accompanied by a decrease in own production as a result of resource depletion as witnessed, for example, in the Netherlands and in the UK, and growing imports from regions outside Europe.
