Our Russian Roots

The sole shareholder of GAZPROM Germania GmbH is the Russian Gazprom export Limited Liability Company (LLC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of its Moscow-based parent company GAZPROM OJSC.

Gazprom export is responsible for exporting natural gas to European countries on behalf of the GAZPROM Group. It supplies enough natural gas to meet over 25 percent of Europe’s natural gas demand. Thus, Gazprom export is the world’s largest natural gas exporter.

GAZPROM is one of Russia’s most important companies and, simultaneously, the world’s largest natural gas producer. Today, the company reliably supplies natural gas to over 20 countries in Europe and Central Asia.

The GAZPROM brand stands for almost 40 years of German-Russian energy partnership and supply security in Germany. With sophisticated equipment covering the entire gas transportation system − gas pipelines, compressor stations and underground storage facilities − GAZPROM ensures uninterrupted supply to the major German energy companies E.ON Ruhrgas AG, WINGAS/Wintershall Erdgashandelshaus and Verbundnetz Gas AG, thus providing natural gas to end consumers from the business sector, the municipalities and private households.

The company’s core business comprises exploration, production, processing, transportation, and trading of natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and gas condensate. It supplies natural gas to both domestic and foreign customers.
