GAZPROM Germania shows positive business results also in the 2nd quarter

As of 30 June 2007, consolidated results after taxes achieved by GAZPROM Germania Group amounted to EUR 179.8 million. This means an increase of app. EUR 9 million compared with the previous year. Consolidated natural gas volumes sold in the 2nd quarter of 2007 totalled 107.3 TWh, exceeding last year's reference figure by app. 12 TWh. Thus, the Group continued its positive development of the 1st quarter of 2007. In the first six months of 2007, the Group sold 215.8 TWh of natural gas, which is app. 28.1 TWh more than in the same period of the previous year.

The development of the UK subsidiary Gazprom Marketing & Trading was particularly positive. In the first six months of 2007, GM&T sold 38.8 TWh more than in 2006 and could increase its natural gas sales up to 73.4 TWh.

The Managing Director of the Company Group, Hans-Joachim Gornig, commented on the new results: 'We have steadily continued to improve our business results despite rising pressure on profit margins in the market. This proves that the work carried out in recent months was successful and allows us to once again look to the future with optimism.'
