Natural gas is becoming increasingly important to industry and private households alike due to its numerous advantages over fossil fuels – for example, its cost efficiency and its positive environmental balance.

As a fossil fuel, natural gas is mainly used for heating private and commercial buildings, cooking, and generating electricity and heat used in industrial production processes.

To a smaller extent, natural gas is used as a motor vehicle fuel. With petrol prices continuing to rise, many private vehicles have been converted to run on natural gas over the past few months. Commercial vehicles and buses are also being converted to run on natural gas. Alongside the issue of cost, the low emission of pollutants is an important factor in the decision to run vehicles on natural gas.
