GAZPROM Schweiz AG

GAZPROM Schweiz AG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GAZPROM Germania GmbH. The company was established on 14 May 2003 under Swiss law and has been operating as a natural gas trading company within the GAZPROM Group since 2004.

The resource-rich region of Central Asia is the GAZPROM Schweiz AG’s key sourcing market for natural gas. The high quantities purchased are source partly from GAZPROM Germania Group’s own production sites in Uzbekistan.

Due to a general over-supply of gas in buyer countries, GAZPROM Schweiz AG failed to sustain the sales volumes of the previous year and faced a drop in sales of approximately 9.0 Gm3 (about 12.4 %). In the absence of favourable purchase conditions, margins fell significantly in 2010.
