Etzel Natural Gas Storage Facility

Through its shareholding in Etzel Kavernenbetriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG and Bunde-Etzel-Pipelinegesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, GAZPROM Germania is also involved in the development of a cavern storage facility that is due to commence operations in 2012. This facility is located 30 km south of Wilhelmshaven and is connected via BEP’s pipeline to the gas grid operated by the Dutch Gas Transport Service (GTS), giving it access to the Title Transfer Facility (TTF), one of the most important natural gas trading hubs in Europe.

With this pipeline connection and its ability to repeatedly transship working gas, this storage facility is able to provide the flexibility demanded by the market.
